WHAT WE’RE ALL ABOUT:
GP Students (6th – 12th grade) exist to partner with parents in pointing students’ hearts to live as disciples of Jesus who live in community for the community. We seek to do this through creating ministries where students and parents can LEARN from Jesus, LIVE in Jesus, and LEAD others to Jesus.
GP Students meet most Sunday evenings during the year from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM. Please check the Events Calendar for our next meeting date.
At our Sunday evening gatherings, students can connect with others their age in a fun environment and engage in worship through music while hearing a challenging message geared toward them.
Our student ministry believes that life change happens best in relationships.
The best way for students to be mentored and get to know other students their age is through a Student Group. Our Student Groups meet during our Sunday night gatherings. Group discussions focus on key parts of faith and developing conversations about what is taught in the student gatherings. All students are welcome to participate.
We also like to eat food, play games and have fun, so we get together for special events such as summer camp, capture the flag, kickball, etc.
If we continue to treat students like participants, they will continue to leave the church after high school and not return. If we allow them to lead, they will become owners and see how their giftedness benefits the body and brings joy to their lives. Students are not the future; they can lead now.
Statistics show that when teenagers are in meaningful, mentor-like relationships with adults who love Jesus, they are more likely to connect to a church, bring their friends, and stay in the church beyond high school.
