Hello Grace Point Church!
First off, I hope that you are doing well. Nearly 10 weeks ago COVID-19 was thrust upon us and I don’t think any of us could have imagined the world we are living in now. These are tough times without a doubt and even desperate times for some. Let me give you some hope today and remind you that all of the restrictions that are in place today will soon ease and eventually pass.
So many of us miss gathering together as the church to worship Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. I had to grieve not being able to gather in person the first few weeks into this pandemic. Your pastors at Grace Point Church Ann Road have a high view of in person gatherings, which has always taken precedent at our church. But we also live in a time where the scattered church can gather virtually to worship and we are thankful for that option right now.
Today, I want to give you an update on our plans for the reopening of Grace Point Church Ann Road for in person gatherings. First, we are following state and federal guidelines regarding social distancing, mask wearing, and in person meetings.
We are also considering other criteria before we open our doors. We are discussing questions of how do we safely gather again while still keeping in mind social distancing, cleaning our facilities, keeping kids safe, and other issues that need to be addressed before we can safely open our doors to in person gatherings. Your leaders want to answer these questions with confidence before we make any hard and fast decisions or set any dates for re-opening for in person gatherings.
What we can tell you today is that we will monitor and learn from other churches around the country as they begin to meet. As information changes, we hold our plans with an open hand allowing them to be edited at any time.
Here’s what we do know: we miss you all dearly and cannot wait to see you, but we will not put you at risk. We are a church that is for our community and will love you the best way we possibly can. For now, that means will we continue to meet virtually online until we are certain we can gather together in a safe manner.
We encourage you to stay tuned to our website, social media platforms and emails for more information as it becomes available. We will update you as soon as we know more about when and how we can reopen safely.
On behalf of the pastors and staff, I thank you for your continued patience and understanding and flexibility and we continue to seek wisdom from the Lord.
Grace & Peace!
Pastor Nick Davi
