Las Vegas is a transient community.
Many people who move to the area do not know anyone within the community. Our goal is to create community where community does not exist.
Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, “You too? I thought I was the only one.”
C.S Lewis
The Christian life is lived most effectively in connection with other people – real people doing real life together. Community Groups provide a place for you to connect, grow and develop relationships with other people on the journey. (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10)
Our primary goal for community groups is cultivating our capacity for communion and connection with God, others, and ourselves.
To facilitate this communion and connection and to grow as disciples of Jesus, Community Groups participate in 5 rhythms: Feast, Pray, Play, Learn, and Go. These rhythms are embodied, practices that shape and form us as a community and as disciples of Jesus. (Acts 2:42-47)
Spiritual friendship is eagerly helping one another know, serve, love, and resemble God in deeper and deeper ways.
Tim keller
Community groups gather together once a week, intentionally following the five rhythms. Groups also live life together outside of the weekly gatherings.
Community Group Leaders don’t focus on trying to pastor the group as a ‘mini-congregation’. Leaders focus on leading and serving with humility as Christ did. (John 13:12-16)
Group Leaders create environments where everyone can use their unique, God-given gifts, where seeds of faith are planted and watered in the lives of those they lead while trusting God with the growth. (1 Corinthians 3:6)
Friendship multiplies the good of life and divides the evil.
